Sun Electric's second album, AHHH!, isn't as immediate as KITCHEN, but only because hint at a more ambient route, particularly on the second half of the disc. The first two tracks are the ones for those who want more rhythm-oriented tracks, they have something for you too: "Point X (Ed.2)," for instance, glides along on long, sustained tones for half its run time before the kick drum comes in. "Kiko," too, starts in on the beats and doesn't relent. But, elsewhere, ambience reigns. "Lone Sloane" and "Spinout & Mellow" both have a lovely drift to them, while "Newambi" goes for a more atonal, twisty beatlessness. But it's the long "Entrance (Hohner Afternooning)" that provides the most bliss, like floating on warm water into the sunrise, though with a nice thump underneath to keep you moving. It's a new version of a track that appeared on KITCHEN, but it still sounds lovely and new.
