Reviews
- Edited one year agoI think this is their best album. I’ve had the 2LP pressing of this plus the s/t album for some time mostly for the sake of having this album on vinyl. I wouldn’t pass up a chance to have a good sounding stand alone pressing of this album
- Tombi Thokchom's sitar on "Harmony" rules!
I really feel that the Sonic Youth comparisons need to end. Let's hope this album aids that feeling. I've always found Blonde Redhead to be more posi and dedicatory of their lives and experiences than the cynical disillusionment of SY. La Mia Vita Violenta expands that finding. In fact, La Mia erupts an old joy, that of (at this point in '95) kosmische music. I grew up on many German krautrock classics and I can tell you that the playful soft-drug addled inflections played out by Blonde Redhead here really raise a glass. For maximum happiness play SY's Washing Machine on cool rinse first then Redhead's La Mia Vita Violenta in the warm softening dryer.
