Edited 3 years agoThis is so good! My most played album this fall, and my first deep dive into RHK’s musical universe, after many years of peripheral relation.
The music surely lives up to its name, as it totally represents the lysergic experience. It’s deep, hypnotic, dark as in representing the subconscious, and danceable in a “holistic” way, stimulating both body, mind and spirit.
It’s not groundbreaking in any way, it’s rather an a-book example of the early-/mid-90’s Ambient Techno sound, relating to acts like Exquisite Corpse/PWOG, early Biosphere, Sun Electric, HIA etc.
What really captures me is the confidence and musicality - you can easily tell that this man, already then, was a master at his craft. Sincere and playful, disciplined and intuitive. Every track has its own personality, and invites the listener to travel within and without. Highly recommended!
