I was today years old when I realized that the sleeve is a drawing of a scene from the 1969 Japanese film Funeral Parade Of Roses:

Tugs on the heart strings and brings a lump to the throat at the loss of the great John Peel. Without him we may never have heard this group.
Why they didn't reach a wider audience will forever baffle me. They had lyrical wit, a strong Indie Rock sound and a distinctive vocal sound. What's more they could produce songs which lodged in the mind and sank deep into the memory. Perhaps their failure to progress further was down to their teetering on the edge of mainstream commerciality which made them a tad less appealing to Hardcore Independents, and just not shiny-plastic enough for those less discerning in their tastes and more reliant on DJ's choosing what they should listen to.
Both A and B sides here are strong little Pop songs, let down by weak or indifferent studio production.
