plenty of praise for this. but i really think the influence of becker's music (not just his mastering) is under-appreciated. the way he works with the dynamic interplay of various embodied/characterized sounds has touched, i think, more popular names like Arca, ANGEL-HO, M.E.S.H., TCF, (you know the crew), could go on. that squelchyness, down and dirty with the earth my goodness! can i imagine that this will be a fundamental piece of 21st century music?

Yep, just like gerryc, I am very surprised about the low grading. A really strong release to my ears, with - of course - a wonderful sound production, and also, it should be noted, a very personal way of playing with these kinds of psychoacoustic effects, deadly serious and quite burlesque in the same time (check the titles too), which makes for an unexpected and welcomed combination.

Compared to the music he cuts on vinyl for other artists with superb results this album highlights his love of pure sound full of depth and abstraction. I suspect there was an expectation from some people out there that this album would be in a dubby/basic channel style effort hence the low rating, This album is far more adventurous than that and of course essential on vinyl.
