Quite the pressing. My copy has very little pops and crackles, but the overall sound quality is VERY dynamic and clear, highly recommend it!

Finally, someone took out the wrong variants and cleaned this entry. Advice for those buying this one sealed...don't, you will end up with the one done in 2019 because they kept the same sleeve. Once you are past the sleeve, you will see a different matrix number and a different color label. If you see the brown labels, you are okay...if you get the dark grey labels, you got the 2019 version done by BG most likely from a file.

Great AAA sound - but distortion gets real bad in some areas (certainly noticeable in the vocals in the Lithium chorus); lacks some balls overall (a solid 7/10).

The 30th remaster (US pressing) is a master class version, imho. In Utero 30th is incredible as well.

P.S. Anyone else find the sound to be panned to the right channel on the first 2 songs?

Comparing two LP label colors between variants: Variant 1 has a milk chocolate color; Variant 3 has a dark chocolate color.

On headphones: this sounds subdued compared to my US first pressing, particularly the drums, like they were trying to cut down any sibilance. It still sounds great, though. Certainly better than the one from the 20th Anniversary set.

Punches above it's weight, best in class for a middle weight rerelease, bass is deep and I'm happy.

It's not perfectly silent when you first play a new copy: especially side B has a bit of surface noise, or swooshing, in the right channel. But believe me, it improves each time you play it, as imperfections were being... shaved off. Apart from this, it's a punchy, gritty, meaty and powerful mastering/pressing, very much recommended and pretty definitive. Just don't judge it on a fresh copy!

Sellers listing was this one, but my copy had no Hype sticker. It has the same labels (Pressed in Germany by Pallas) and sleeve but vinyl has RKS and DGC 24425-A REI etched and STERLING and 21919 are stamped. Cant find any listing that matches. Feels 180g

MASSIVE sound that really does the album justice. Guitars punch out and the bass really fills up the mix. Dave's drums are never lost either. When it comes to vinyl this is as good as it's gonna sounds without getting the very very first press.

Fantastic sound on this repressing. Buy your copy with confidence.
