I say my Lord. Autechre on Die Stadt? And a good record at that in 2005? Beautifully packaged. A collectors item indeed. If you like ae that is. The website says...

Die Stadt website says: "2500 copies. 3rd press of 500 copies." I guess it means 3000 copies exsist.

Track timings are slightly off. The correct durations are 32:34 and 49:38.

Its common for various CD players being two seconds off. Sure it would be wrong if the track runs 33.44 or something, but really this is not the point here. 2 seconds are the grey area for that. Its common to be off that much, but nothing that makes the listed times wrong in the true sense of the word.

Honestly, this is not something easy to listen to. If anything, this is best suited as a background music. Maybe something to pop in while you're reading, playing video games, or maybe even while you're falling asleep. Autechre has never really done anything like this before, minimal ambience. While there are 2 different tracks here, each "song" gets it's own chapters. So no its not just 2 really long songs... its more like about 20 short tracks merged into one long listen. There is supposed to be only 1000 of these out there, so if you're a big fan of either artist, get it before they're all gone!

It's just a matter of taste. Those who disagree with Taskmaster's review like abstract music, so they don't find this album difficult to listen to. I find the “³hæ” disc in particular to be highly accomplished. Anyone who isn't familiar with this sort of music could try putting aside preconceived ideas about what music should sound like, and just listen until it makes sense. It's a good release.
