- My Copy has the correct 'Lucky Cloud' track sequence ...luckily ; or else i would have felt compelled to return it.
Didn't detect any bass/ volume problems on side C.
Overall, the pressing sounds great ! Clear and beautiful.
My main gripe is with the packaging. Non gate-fold cover with two identical inner sleeves. No Download card !
A bit too minimal considering the high price.
The cover is raw cardboard with a fibrous texture and unfortunately they've put an ugly barcode sticker on the back, which i cannot remove without damage to the cardboard cover.
Aside from all that complaining, i'm happy to have this on vinyl and it sounds excellent. - Guess I was On A Lucky Cloud with my copy: no volume/bass problems on side C (sounds absolutely similar to all other sides) and correct Lucky Cloud / Return versions in their respective places. Generally, I’m not a fan of new artwork on reissues but this one somehow works. Not sure why the label went for 33 rpm (could’ve easily been 45), and identical inner sleeves seem a bit puzzling but hey — it’s great this one ended up pressed on wax after all!
- side C not as loud, maybe because it has 20 minutes of material on it, say bye bye to base after 6 minutes, this is ok, I mean everyone knows Arthur had a ton of unreleased material, too bad he wasn't able to sell this stuff while he was alive
- I have to disagree with all of you. The cuts on here aren't too hot. This issue could have easily been a three-sided release with an etching on the fourth side, a single LP, or (ideally) a double LP at 45 RPMs. Granted, the sound is clear.
- Very excited about this release - but - was wondering if anybody found side C to sound not as hot as the rest of the sides? Certain highend parts (especially with the vocals) a little distorted and fuzzy? Everything else sounds top notch, so it was surprising to have this - I thought maybe there was some dust on my needle when it first started, but no. Did a comparison with the cd and found those 4 tracks to actually sound nicer on the cd... just my copy of the vinyl somehow??
- Anybody else got 'lucky cloud return' as track 4 and track 10, rather than 'lucky cloud' as track 4 and 'lucky cloud return' as track 10 on the vinyl?
- Edited 10 years agoalso have the issue of Lucky Cloud Return on both discs, rather than Lucky Cloud and Lucky Cloud Return.
