- underrated blablabla like always
No it is not! This music is like diving in liquid air. Extremely layered athmospheric soundscapes melt with soulful songwriting to my ears in an uparalleled way. Don´t know if its true, heard once Kwes is synaesthetic, but never mind, at least his music is...
a lil´ disappointed for the LP cut, sounding somewhat muffled, swallowing some of the nice details sacrificing ´em to the basssss - Cablecar and Purplehands are the 'listen to' tracks... it's heavy bass production and the switchups / bridge are a nice add on
- Woozy avant pop that's a lot more appealing than most other electronic pop that I hear 'nowadays'. I like the way the beats kind of run behind the rhythm. I also like the two different voices he seems to employ... one being a high falsetto and the other a sort of Nick Cave low croon. Actually - he might have three voices as there's a mid-range RnB style in there too.
The arrangements are very imaginative and the production is much better than a lot of other contemporary albums.... the drums aren't brash or pummelling and the keyboard sounds are intriguing. Worthy of repeated listening.
