- Vinyl done right. This is a fantastic sounding pressing with a nice clear and balanced sound. It runs circles around the later remastered CD.
Listening on an ATLP120XUSB with a VM95ML cartridge. - Sports will be repressed on limited-edition olive green and classic black. Release Date: 9/15/2023. https://shop.udiscovermusic.com/collections/huey-lewis-the-news
- the pressing is clear and dead silent on most of the record. really love the sound. I was impressed that I got this for a few bucks here, used, and it sounds brand new. recommended.
- Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
- I have 2 copies of this album. One I know is one of the Club pressings but the other has 2 very different matrix runout.
Side A is (J-TR) FV-41412-A5 GID A G1 and side B is etched P FV 41412 BS P1 stamped STERLING.
