Reviews
- remastered with wanting to sound more contemporary - yuk - so more bass in the foreground. such a shame
- The opening to this album is incredible. The first 3 tracks are so good. Alone again or is really uplifting, and also a bit sad. A house is not a motel keeps it moving, and is a lively anthem. At this point it feels like this is gonna be an album full of anthems. Andmoreagain keeps the momentum going, but sadly the album takes a dip afterwards in my eyes, with the rest of it being fine, but not especially memorable. Worth it for those 3 though. I could be wrong. I often am.
- Interesting listen, but I think this is a little over rated; it has some decent Folk Rock sounding numbers, but a lot of the material is a bit dry.
- Edited 19 years agoAbsolute timeless classic masterpiece of pure pop goodness. The music is much less "psychedelic" than you'd expect. Likely because the focus is on honest-to-goodness songs instead of jams or freakouts, and songwriting is so strong. Cuts like opener Alone Again Or and The Daily Planet are earworms, plain and simple. Most of the bonus tracks on this release are inessential, but the 1968 single is a hidden gem buried near the end. The remastering is crisp and clear. Overall, a total winner.
