- Probably my most valued record, certainly in terms of originality and now nostalgia.the lunatic acid remix was a favourite of Carl Cox and the original still stands up 30 years later too.
I NEVER hear anything of this quality these days.Frankly it makes me glad I was born when I was (December 78). I think in hard trance terms 93-96 was the most fertile time for this stuff. I am grateful to have lived through it and wouldn't change it for anything. - Edited one year agoAll three mixes are great here, but I have to say the Lunatic Acid mix takes the cake for me in terms of epicness. Easily in my top 10 (hard) trance tracks of all time.
Un chef d'oeuvre - The original mix is an all-time classic that everyone knows, but check out the Scan X remix.
He keeps all the original elements intact, but tones the overall sound down into a really cool mix.
A pulsating, organic bassline is introduced alongside Scan X's typical spooky pads to give a very different feeling. It's nowhere near as "hands in the air" as the original but it is still a definite floor filler.
The French Trance scene was tiny compared to Germany, but they definitely had their moments of class. - Another anthem trance made in France, still during this wonderful year 1994. It is easily recognizable with its melody which remains long in the ear and its rate of dearability of the highest. The melodies are beautiful, simply, positive and do not sink into stupidity. So, the haunting "Milky Way" is playing everywhere in Europe. A title that demonstrates the eclecticism of the new French scene.
- Lunatic asylum did such a nice job on the remix, it's not even funny. He turned this already great hit into a massive hardtrance-acid tune, with this so recognizable "acid" gimmick. It's a masterpiece, even overshadowing the original one. And it's quite an achievement.
- Out of interest where did you see them play this live? I know very little about them, I assume they are French.
One of my fave tracks ever, simply stunning. Played it on the way to Tribal Gathering in 1994. - How come no one talked about this record? Milky Way was one of the best moments of trance in 94. I had the luck to see Aurora Borealis live in 94 playing this tune, and the whole crowd went berzerk. Real bliss, thank you!
