- @1015Folsom in San Frandisco, Jeno introduced me to this at 2am some point in '95. Classic peak-builder to jack your body to, the style & tempo somewhere between raver/b-boy energy and acid house.
- Edited 16 years agoThe first time I heard this record was in spring '95 on the weekly Friday evening radio show 'Teknoville' on the belgian national alternative radio station 'Studio Brussels'. The host was really ranting about this release and he insisted that everybody should buy a copy. This was quite uncommon because normally the presenters kept a neutral attitude towards the played records. Instantly I put a tape in the deck to record this beauty.
This release sounded so incredible fresh and uncommon that it made people go buck wild. It's hard to describe the sound but it's like dubby techno-meets-the-wild-of-tribal-Africa. The most particular characteristic is the raunchy tsjirping percussion or hi-hat that resembles to the sounds that crickets sometimes produce on a hot summernight. Wicked and very vivid.
Not one dud can be found in the Trelik catalogue but this particular release remains my favourite. It got me into exploring the whole Trelik legacy and Ian Loveday's other fine productions. - This record is probably one of the reasons I began to listen to techno. Very melodic, fresh, bit of acid sounds... I think the hi hat rythm in this one are very original, I haven 't heard it to much...
