Reviews
- Edited 6 years agoThe "Essex Mayhem" version is an odd beast: a speedy drum-n-bass version that's nearly nothing like the original song at all, but with the original vocals dropped on top of it. I can't say I like it much, but it's a valiant effort. The second remix, on the other hand, the "Chilled" version, is fantastic. It should've been the main mix on here, possibly even the single mix used in the video instead of the album version. Feels a bit more like older MC 900 Ft Jesus stuff, colder and more intense. It preserves everything great about the album version but really tightens the vibe up a great deal. The "Esperanto" version seems a tad unnecessary here — it's similar to the decent "Primo 1.3 Full Length" version, but with chopped-up vocals that sound like gibberish (hence the "esperanto" mix title). My verdict is that this single is well worth it just for the "Chilled" mix, but the other ones are decent enough in their own right. The drums on all but the Chilled version do sound pretty dated, though.
