I've bought new one. Sealed. Was really excited about this box. I am a big fan. Unfortunately, I faced more troubles than nice moments. First of all, all covers were blur and dirty. Some kind of glue, idk... Really VG (in sealed condition!!!). But OK. I could deal with it. I checked vinyl one by one. All LPs were bent. All of them. Also quality of sleeve's paper was really bad, crumpled. In fact, I could overcome all these things. But when I started to listen, I gave up completely. Noise in right channel for all set, pops, fat but dirty overloaded bass, 2 skips in KEA (it was the most hard challenge for me, I was not ready for the skipping), lack of 80-90 years atmosphere, I mean dynamic (distorted), loudness (too loud). The only pleasure I found partially in AJFA/ep/single. The first 3 albums - disappointment. QA was poor for this item, to my big regret. Now I am focusing only on original vinyl, no hopes any more.

I will try to be as much objective I can with that Box Set. The box comed out only in 5.000 copies and was cut from "George Marino" in "Sterning Sound". They pressed each album in two vinyls on 33 RPM and not 45 RPM ( i don't know why). They tried to give some High Quality vinyls back then in 2004 for the fans of the band. And indeed these vinyls have High quality sound but they have and some other things that is not good.
The vinyls they sound very loud with big explosion and that is good but very often you think that they are little compressed from the sound. Also, they have mass in your space and ultra massive bass but they lags on brightness, sharpness and atmosphere. From here you can not heard the realistic and truly 80s atmosphere because was deleted. The vinyls have big low end and not top end and that buried the guitars and the atmosphere of the album and i'm not a big fan for that.
Another downside is that the pressings are not clear. You can hear a lot of surface noise and some "pops" on these vinyls even if you have them in "Mint" condition like me.
All in all, these vinyls have some pros and some cons. They have mass in your space, big bass and strong instruments and they sound loud but they lags on brightness, in top end, sharpness and atmosphere. But if we considering the price (400+ dollars/Euros) it's not worth the trouble. I have compare them with multiple other vinyls from the albums and the most of them they gets the 6 - 7 place except "The $5.98 E.P" and "And Justice for all" that are better vinyls against the first threee albums.
So if you are NOT collector and you want to have the best sounding pressings of these albums, is not the right page for you. Keep your money to buy better vinyl pressings.

According to this Video, there are marbled vinyls among the 5k :

Might be just the ones #1000 and below. Definetly worth a separate release.
Go check yours!

I have an non-numbered promo copy of this box set. Does anybody know how many of these promo box sets were produced?

This pressing belongs to the 2004 Rhino "Limited Edition Box Set", as described in the notes.
As its release was only available in a boxed format (except those sold after unpacking the box) it would be interesting to cancel this individual release.
A box count as a single unit. In this case, 4LP+1EP+1PD count as 1.
