Additional liner notes by Nick deKrechewo:
Because of the ever increasing demand by the disco audience, Scepter Records has prepared a unique collection of their disco favorites, with special vocal and instrumental mixes by Tom Moulton.
Never before available.
Thanks to Florence Greenberg, president of Scepter Records, for realizing the importance of the disco market. Even thought there were many obstacles in compiling some of the older material, Mrs. Greenberg put this album together. Because of Scepter's acceptance of the disco market long before any other record company, Scepter was awarded the Billboard Magazine "1974 Trendsetter Award" for being the innovator in special disco mixes.
The collection is here now, so get dancin'!!!
Nick - Downstairs Records, N.Y.C.
The back cover lists nearly 300 early disco DJs with the caption "Thanks, for without your help this album would not be possible". The list includes: Steve D'Acquisto, George Cucuzzella, Alfie Davison, Francis Grasso, Walter Gibbons, John Hedges, Richie Kaczor, Barry Lederer, Larry Levan, John Luongo, David Mancuso, David Rodriguez, Tom Saverese, Nicky Siano, Roy Thode and David Todd.
The inner gatefold sleeve also contains a list of over 200 clubs, primarily in New York but the list also includes clubs in 16 other states, plus Washington, D.C., Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia and French West Indies.
