I think my vocabulary might be a bit challenged to review this correctly. If I described it all as a bit samey and pointed out that the artist must have spent a lot of time listening to Marvin Gaye, Maxwell and the Isley's, I'd be honest but inadequate in describing this as it is really rather good on its own. Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Pete Balasco (Vocals, sax, keyboards, organ, drums, vibes, bass) delivers a very laid-back R&B / Smooth Jazz album without sliding into embarrassing and awkward cringeworthy territory. The CD is cheap as chips, so do yourself a favour, buy it and judge for yourself. The worst that can happen is that you wake up 54 minutes later, having had a pleasant nap.
