- I think this press if fine for what it is. The artwork is lower quality than than the OG and the sound quality is fine (ort 2M Blue) and it's cool having the instrumentals with the original, but if you can get an original for the same price as this one, go for the OG. That's the hard part though, finding one for 100 or less. I'd say this is worth the money if it was $20-30 cheaper
- I recently purchased this from ihiphop distribution site and it arrived in Australia in perfect condition. The cover feels real sturdy unlike some of the feedback on here from prior orders... maybe they've improved that as my experience was perfect (apart from the near criminal shipping cost to Oz)
- I've been comparing the original 2001 pressing to this more recent deluxe edition pressing and sadly this pressing is fleecing ya'll.
Seriously doesn't even hold a candle to the original. This pressing is highly compressed, lacks complete punch. Lacks the same soundstage. Vocals are bumped all the way up front and the beats are buried. The original punchs and properly grabs your ears - the way this album was meant to do.
I'm a little pissed at myself for even breaking the plastic to open this deluxe edition - I should've kept it sealed to sell it new. I'd dig to have the instrumentals but even the 2xLPs of instrumentals also sound flat.
I knew this deluxe pressing would sound veiled and lackluster the moment I saw how compressed the grooves are and how big the runout groove is on all the sides. The original pressing has very little runout groove and deadwax - they mastered this to utilize the entirety of each side. - Just got mine in. The open ends of the sleeve are all banged up. I imagine this will happen for all of them that get shipped out.
- Just got an original so I can finally compare. This release sounds great but the printing on the sleeve is poor. Overall I was happy with it.
