As good as Metallica gets! This is the Thrash metal we all know and love! And although I think that 'The Black Album' is very good, this also holds a special place in my playlists.

I found an affordable EX/EX copy from the flea market. I am pleased with the sound. Way better than the cd pressings I have heard. I also compared this pressing agaist spotify remaster and liked this vinyl pressing more. All know the lack of bass problem, but fortunately guitars and drums does the magic in this record.

You vinyl snobs are wild! I have the pressing from 2014 that everyone shat on and the new walmart green one, the difference in sound is hardly noticeable hahaha you need to stop until they REMIX this shit! But the green is dope so I ain't complaining. CHILL

I will write my favorite album pressings in order.
1)Columbia House "Club Edition" of 1988:Easily the best pressing of the album. Insane brightness, sharpness and clarity. The music is very sweet and very colourful and the instruments sounds incredible. Also this is the most atmospheric version of the album you can find out there. One of the best vinyl pressings I have listen in my life in generally. --> https://www.discogs.com/release/3508445-Metallica-And-Justice-For-All
2)Blackened 2018 Europe REISSUE (not the remastered. The "reissue"): This is the best vinyl was made by "Blackened" label. The version has keeps the original sound of the album and it sound more thick and heavier than any original "DMM" version. The best value choice to hear this legendary album. Difficult to believe it but I think this is the second best pressing of the album. --> https://www.discogs.com/Metallica-And-Justice-For-All/release/11502880
3)Rhino 2004 from the box:Very powerful and brutal version to listen the album. This version has the most brutal instruments you can find out there. The only problem is that you missing the original atmosphere of the album and some clarity. But remains a high quality material.
4)Vertigo Europe 2001:Once again one very serious pressings from the "Vertigo 2001" vinyl series of the band. The sound is very balance and nothing distract you. You can receive the 80s atmosphere of the album with very strong instruments. Compared it with the "Columbia House", and the other above pressings, this it sounds little more dry and not so natural but is better than the below pressings and is easy to find.
5)CBS/Sony Japanese pressing:Pretty good pressing but compared it with the above 4 pressings, it lags in many things. The sound is very bright but i feel the guitars are more noisy than usual. Also the drums are not so strong against some other versions and it lags on bass (casual thing for a Japanese pressing). And if we considering the price of the pressing, it's a collective material and nothing more. But you can enjoy the album from here without problems.
6)Blackened 2018 Remastered:This pressing has no problems like surface noise, distortions ect. It is a very serious pressing like the "Blackened" reissue above. The problem here is the mastering itself. I believe the remaster it's very bad and buried the 80s atmosphere of the album. But if you like the sound of the remastered, is great pressing to get and might you prefer it more than the Japanese pressing above.
7)Elektra US original pressing "DMM" (this of the page here):This pressing it sound little thin and lifeless in my ears. You can not receive the natural sound of the first 4 pressings and also the powerful instruments of "Rhino" version. You feel that the instruments of this version, "tickles" your ears. The sound it's ok but if we compare it with the first 4 pressings above that they not have "DMM" process, it's weak.
8)Vertigo Europe (Holland) original pressing "DMM": Like the Elektra above version, and this pressing it sounds almost the same. Same mastering and same cut process. Nothing fancy and nothing impressive. The US maybe has slightly more explosion in my ears but perhaps is my imagination.
9)Vertigo South Korea pressing: An "ok" pressing but nothing impressive. The sound is more flat than usual and dry. Collective material imo.
10)Warner/Universal 45 RPM of 2008:Pretty weak sound quality. Much better version than the 33 rpm 2xLP edition but still you can not shake your neck a bit here.
11)Yugoslavia 1988 pressing:Very bad version to listen the album. Distortions all over the place and very flat sound.
12)Vertigo UK DFI pressing of 1993: One of the worst pressings out there. Collective material and only.
13)Blackened US of 2014 reissue: This must be a repress from the 2008 33 rpm disgusting pressing. Ultra bad product. Avoid.
14)Warner/Universal 33 rpm of 2008 pressing: This is the worst pressing i have listen in my life. Is like you listen one bad made cassette that someone throwed water on it. Easily you can throw out of your window the vinyl and keep only the cover of the album.
I made this comment because I saw many comments here from the people who believes the US 1st DMM pressing is the best version of the album. I definitely disagree and here I give you all my arguments, and which other versions I have compared the US vinyl.
Closing, do not spend money for what I believe. Just considered me as an extra guy.
