Samarra might be the highlight of the Sad World trilogy. Slowly developing and rewarding, the anticipation is near breathtaking. Cordoba is an eastern sounding that is similar to the first track in it's pacing and long evolving patterns. I think the key with having Ramin on this is that it almost feels like it could go into a techno beat but Dr.Atmo keeps the direction going and stays on track. The combination of the two is nice and reserved but feels like a trance (even slightly Goa with the 2nd track) but its still ambient. I think this is definitely one of the more spiritual releases on Fax. Often overlooked.

Fantastic early sub label release. Two stunning ambient tunes here. For me one of the very best ever Fax releases. Why this CD is still easy to get hold of at such cheap prices is a mystery to me.Buy this you will never regret it.Not dated one bit ,still as hypnotic as ever.Pete Namlook you were an A&R wizard as well as musician.Thank you.

There's something very mystic in this album, which makes me go back to it again, and again. Both tracks are based on repeatative loop and repeat themselves (especially the first one), yet it doesn't boring for a moment. You just can't stop it, once you press on the Play button.
Sounds from mother-earth on the background, ethnic voices, gentle tribal beats, spacy samples and arpegiators, all in the right combination, makes this album a truely unique peice, which never fades by the years.
A must for all Ambient lovers, and FAX fans.
