- Good news! Music On Vinyl has announced a vinyl reissue of this masterpiece, finally. Many of us have waited so long for this moment. The release date is scheduled for December 3rd, 2021.
Unfortunately the release doesn't look like anything to write home about. Standard black vinyl, nothing very unique or noteworthy about the packaging or presentation which I find to be a letdown, but as long as the pressing is quality I will be happy regardless. - Great chill out CD. One song samples ambient track Answered Prayers from David Sylvian's Gone to Earth instrumentals, if that helps let you know where they're coming from.
- Incredible album, right up there with the Portishead's Dummy and Goldfrapp's Felt Mountain.....clear blue coloured vinyl would be great - this deserves so much more.
- Edited 13 years agoAn incredibly lush and decedent set from a fairly anonymous, overlooked and lost musical pairing. The album manages to stir into it's sophisticated mix a combination of drum 'n' bass, 60s pop, spy movie themes, chillout bliss, gospel, ambient, lounge and jazz. I have this album several times across various formats and pressings and it's actually, by quite a long way, my favourite album of all time. It's quite a stylish and epic piece, with a timeless quality and so much to satisfy the ear that it never tires. I wont focus on "best songs" because this album works exceptionally well as a one sitting, start to finish listening experience. The only joy to glean from the fact it fell on deaf ears at the time and failed to generate any true commercial success is that today, the CD can be picked up for a couple of quid, if that. Take a compact risk and believe me, you wont be disappointed. If I find a copy of this album in a shop going cheap, I nearly always buy it! Every person I've passed it on to has always been very grateful!
