- Maurice's guitar twinkles, glimmers with a phosphorescent glow. It pulls and tugs. Oh it aches, crumbles even, but it dances, drifts, skips (never trips!) over the chords with hope. Some of the most gorgeous guitar work of the whole era, or any era for that.
- Listen if you like long guitar solos and spaced out post-punk that's mild and powerless. A cohesive combination of virtuioistic guitar work, heavily reverbed drums that consist entirely of toms, and Lawrence's pouty, effeminate singing. Music for sitting looking out the window and feeling sad but alright. It's like if The Durutti Column had been more of a rock band than in addition to being a vessel for song-length guitar solos, though that's basically what Evergreen Dazed and the last two tracks are.
- You should note that along with other Cherry Red issues from this period both the disc and cover are 'Made in France' for the UK market and you can see this in the pics shown for the 'UK' issue in this listing and also should come with a french generic inner sleeve 'PRECAUTIONS ESSENTIELLES...'
- I purchased the 24bit resolution remasters from HD Tracks. The guitars sound like diamonds. It's quite stunning.
