Masterpiece! Heart "Honey Kisses" one Sunday in Panorama Bar. Still remember that intense ecstatic feeling vividly, when Norman Nodge dropped this gem, and the bassline just went through my body. Epic track, epic night.
The rest of the EP is just as good, I just never had the luxury to hear them on a Function One sound system.
Three infectious party jams and an oddball acid track. Less menace here than can be found on some earlier Marquis Hawkes stuff, which I think is actually a really refreshing change. "Honey Kisses" and "Roger Funk" stand out, the opener with a boisterous horn sample, and the closer with an '80s style beat over a deep, thumping kick and a perfectly sequenced longform bassline. Great to hear this artist pump out unashamedly positive underground house music. The bag is wicked too. :)
