In contrary to most comments here, I particularly love the "bad" pressing and very lo-fi design of "The Blessing". The dusty, lo-fi sound design, as if this song was heard/played behind a thick door, is an opposite way to our current HD tracks which unfortunately sometimes sound like botox.
We should slow down this conquest for very high definition in sounds and pictures in general. Cause imagination works harder and better when informations received are fuzzy, dim, mysterious. Art needs frailty and imperfection to be Art. If our way to create sounds and pictures comes too close to "reality" and sounds too powered, too neat, then where is the journey, where is the dream?
I definitely think that lo-fi is the key, and HD is one of the worst things that ever happened to music and pictures. Most movies and music from the last 10 years are less memorable and haunting than before, and HD is one of the (many) reasons why, as it gives to arts and beauty an aggressiv, pretentious and superficial touch, in contrary to lo-fi which sublimates everything by giving to a reality a mysterious, inaccessible, distant daydreamin' charisma.
For "The Blessing" here, it perfectly fits the shamanic mood, and makes it sound like a track coming from the heart of earth, instead from a cold PC/machine.
    Absolute winner.

The blessing is absolutely fantastic. Indeed such a shame this sounds like shit on a big system. Heard it in The School during the Giegling weekender and it sounded awful. Any chance this gets a remastered issue?

Nice music with bad production. It's painful on a big soundsystem and impossible to enjoy it properly on my hi-fi setup.

Both tracks are very nice, each one in it's own way but the mastering sounds really bad...It's a shame...

            Those notes, deep. True.

The blessing is to me one of 2014's best track so far, 10 minutes of eternal dreams, just a piece of art (The frequencies sounds remains the same on the record, i guess it's a kind of old-school mix-mastering, so there's nothing wrong with youtube & soundcloud preview).

Sightings is also a good track, more housy with analog sounds

So far, the general consensus seems to be that A side sounds like crap, too bad :(

Bought this one for Sightings and it was worth it! A really good Melchior's track.
I'm not convinced about The Blessing, to me the track is nothing special, I remember it when Rhadoo played it at SW 13 and i wasn't impressed either, to be honest I went out of the tent cause the medium/high frequencies were a bit too much on a Funktion One system.

The Blessing is my favorite track so far for 2014. It reminds me of really old school prog for some reason. Like the 2002 era before prog started circling the drain. I will say this though, the highs are really distorted and clippy. Gotta knock the treble on the mixer back to 9 o'clock to get a somewhat balanced sound out of this 12". Despite that issue, still a freaking amazing song.

the blessing is a nice chillaxed mental beauty played in the right moments, but for me its all about sightings with the typical melchior spirit ...
