pitch-hiker is on here; a track widely known beyond the hardcore sub-scene of techno.
in case *you* don't know it, it's an genius-bordering-on-the-insane 909 bassdrum workout without any other elements; just on-going filtering and distortion. if you hear it, you will love it.
and the flipside is pure phuture sound.

I've got a spare copy of the golden sleeve (without foil or info sticker) in vg+ condition (photos on request) if anyone is interested. Perhaps a trade for another pcp sleeve or stickers perhaps. Let me know

Regarding to the track Pitch Hiker and the reference to the earlier Wax release from 1993, there's also another track that pre-dates Pitch Hiker that sounds very similar. I'm referring to Square Dimensione - Angry Bassdrums also releasesd in 1993 on Rave Records.

As noted before, "Pitch-Hiker" is a remake of 1993's "Bass Drum & Hi-Hats" by "Wax" (on their "Motive"-EP, Belgium, USA Import Music). But the PCP version is much better. The bass is stronger, and it doesn't need any hi-hats at all to create its dark, hypnotic atmosphere. The track consists only of a simple, straight, but modulated and sometimes distorted bassdrum with some slight hall effects. I personally think there would have been much more potential in this track, especially considering more variations and sound-experiments -, but it is quite a smasher anyway.

"Awake In Neo Tokyo" is a solid and dark PCP tune, really a very good one, but nothing totally special. It features a cool cyber-atmosphere, some asian-like and very catchy melody and a driving, deep beat - nothing more, but nothing less.

Pitch-Hiker is actually a remix of an early Belgian techno track called Bass Drum & Hi-Hats by Wax on USA Import Music, the arrangement is almost exactly the same. This really should have been given a credit on the record.

Pitch-Hiker aka 'The Bassdrum track" is a pcp dancefloor classic. Its a very simple track - just a relentless 4-to-the-floor modulated 909 kickdrum. I've never seen this track fail to get heads nodding and the dancefloor going. The simple beat and 909 sound are both infectious and irresistible. This track is very pure techno. The Cold Rush labels all have the words "Music For Huge Space Arenas" on them - I can't think of a better example of that than Pitch-Hiker.

Pilldriver is a minimalistic hardcore track. It's only contains a bass kick of which the color and overdrive are varied over time.
Works well in a large dark stroboscopic hall. :)
