Probably one of the best and for sure one of the most underrated hip hop record of the Golden Age, this debut EP features actual inmates from Rahaway Prison located in New Jersey.
Crude lyrics and minimal breakbeats are enriched with live bass guitars and trumpet, rapping is not on top but is real, and all the situations described were lived by the artists in their life.
All this peculiar ingredients made the Lifers Group debut an instant classic, unfortunately forgotten today, but a must have for all the gangsta rappers appreciators.
