- Edited 2 years agoI love this, but how do I tell if my Sakura CD is a reissue?
I got it around 2006-7 while doing a refit of Fopp Records into an All Saints clothes store. Found it in a box of cds in a wee cupboard in the basement. So it can't possibly be a re-issue from 2016 or 2019 as this site is suggesting. Cheers! - For those holding onto hope for a reissue, P-Vine is starting to remaster Susumu's Skintone label material and releasing vinyl starting with Symbol. Perhaps Sakura will come at some point. LITA is distributing stateside. https://p-vine.jp/news/20210406-120000-2
- The 20 year repress of Sakura you can find in the 20 anniversary Box from the leaf Label, which still ist Not much more expenive than the Sakura LP itself and includes another 9 LPs from leaf. Check IT out
- amazing album, genuinely gets better with every listen!
interesting he samples another great ambient album (the pavillion of dreams) by Harold budd on Shinsen
with that of Madrigals Of The Rose Angel, great sampling! - Love listening to this album at night, reflecting over things. In particular, Saku, Tobiume and Kodomotachi are profound pieces of music. Truly unique production from Susumu Yokota, who has sadly departed from us. His imprint on this musical world speaks volumes about the person he was. I'll surely be returning to this album for many many years to come.
