For me stand out tracks are "It's Over" "Starlight" "Sweet Is The Night" and especially "Across The Border" which whenever I listen to ELO'S 1981 album "Time" I can hear it's influence in the track "That's The Way Life's Meant To Be"
I've heard somewhere that the original 70s pressings of this Out Of The Blue were stamped during a low point in vinyl records when the pressing plants tried to save money by reusing the same stampers, people complain about the records sounding worn out, apparently they did the same thing with The Eagles "Hotel California"
Well I've got my 1977 release and it sounds ok to me, perhaps Jeff Lynne's voice and the orchestra make it sound like a little more softer than your average pro rock album.
I'd rank this behind their other albums "Discovery" "A New World Record" and "Time" the latter is my all time favourite ELO album.
Still good stuff and this was the last time I'm thinking they were a true orchestra as Jeff got rid of the fiddle, chello and double base for the future albums.

I still have the card modelling spaceship just as is never made ...by '77 i was past my model making years, the album still gets airtime and has certainly stood the test of time, i think i paid £4.99 which was a fair chunk of cash then so no wonder i took care of it. If you haven't heard ELO ... jump on board somewhere online then find a good vinyl record to hear this music as intended a great album with "Wild West Hero" and "Mr Blue Sky" being the standouts amongst many super tunes included
