I bought the disc new and it dirty, scratched and with red stains so ugly, that if a monkey was working at the Ace pressing plant when this came out of the dirty machine he would yell 'stop this production ' we are letting down our customers and causing irreparable damage to our brand. Unfortunately there was no monkey working there so now I have a piece of dirty vinil that I have to return 70 kms from me. PS noise floor was high on the first track. Returning it

Such a strange mix of reviews on this pressing. Mine sounds quite nice, particularly Ron Carter’s bass is present and jazzy. Clean and flat too. I realize this is most certainly a digital remaster pressed onto vinyl, but for the price a good addition to my collection. Further caveat is that I’m listening on a vintage system, not audiophile.

I concur, this record sounds great. I've never heard the og but if it sounds better than this, it must be phenomenal. If I had to guess, this might not have as much soundstage, but none of the other og Herons I have are especially high on that anyway. Given all that, this probably sounds better than the expensive shredded ogs I've passed on, anyway.

Great pressing of an exceptional album. I’m going to wear my copy out!

Incredible pressing, not sure what others are on about! But maybe it's because I use an EQ

Sounds really good. Dead quiet wax, far quieter than many so-called audiophile pressings.

Yeah I'll add on here and say that this pressing is junk, absolutely ridiculous that this landmark recording has zero reissues that are worth a damn, only way to get a good copy is to shell out for an early pressing. Shameful.

Very quiet, no noise or pops. Sound is pretty flat though, there's no soundstage at all. I have 3 DOL pressings and they are all lifeless. Lesson in life: avoid DOL if you have a choice. In this case, i can't find any other version so I will stick to this until a good reissue is being available

Sounds like this was mastered in a spacesuit drifting out towards some outer galaxy! compressed and lifeless for what is an iconic album. Such a shame there isn't a full on AAA 50th Anniversary copy available for which it truly deserves. Decided to keep my second copy although it's not any less noisy than the first.

Disappointing pressing. Audio fidelity of this pressing is flat and very compressed. Its a shame because this is such a great historic album and yet is not getting proper care and quality pressing it deserved. Nevertheless, I will keep this copy until a better vinyl pressing is released. Of course, track A1 "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" is a masterpiece.
