Reviews
- Edited 9 months agoWhen I left London to move up north - Speed Garage was completely dominating the place and this was the biggest of them all followed by 'Gunman' and 'It's A London Thing' amongst others - even now (20 years (!) later) it sort of defines the whole scene.
- Along with 187 Lockdown's "Gun Man", one of the seminal Speed Garage anthems. Tim Deluxe and Omar Adimora took drums from Kenny "Dope" Gonzales (listen to The Underground Mix of "I Get Lifted"), a synth sample from Armand Van Helden's CJ Bolland Remix, and the classic Tina Moore vocal loop, and added a warpy rough bassline that would set the scene for many, many imitations.
