To clear up some confusion that I certainly had with this release and hopefully help others, I purchased the 77' GEMA press and also a still sealed recent US repress. Both copies were missing the vocals in Duppy Conqueror, one of my favorite songs by the Wailers. I then purchased a 73' original press and was shocked when track A3 comes on and poor Bob gets cut right off again. Distressed, I began looking into the source I enjoy on spotify that actually has the vocals and seems to have better channel separation and in general just better sound IMO. It says 2003 under the album name. So after looking here on discogs at the 2003 CD remaster reissue, that appears to be the proper mix I seek, the remastered version with bonus tracks. Now finding it on vinyl I looked to the 2004 Italian Earmark reissue, it says in the notes of the transparent release that Sanctuary records owns the copyright to this remaster, so I would look for any vinyl copy from 2004 or using the Sanctuary credits. Those are my findings with this interesting album, probably my favorite Wailers album, usually the original press sounds the best but in this case the remaster sounds better..
