Wim Mertens has been low key a big influence on the European electronic scene, mostly the progressive trance one, and it is fun to trace common elements from his compositions to what ended up on the most well known tunes of the style. "Maximizing the Audience" in particular has had so many edits that you may have listened to any of them if you went clubbing in the last 30 years.

In any case a great example of the ostinato/arpeggio kind of minimalism that Mertens, Nyman, Glass etc have been mastering.
