I always like how most people that have this CD, they often say "I don't know why the h*ll I bought this." Funnier to me, because not only have I seen so many people say that, but also because my Dad said the exact same thing.

I don't like Moby at all but "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?" is a beautiful track.

A well crafted album of both uptempo and downtempo tracks, many of which are constructed from samples of old blues recordings (Honey, Run On, Find My Baby). Moby himself sings on a few tracks (the lush 'Porcelain', the pensive 'The Sky Is Broken'), and there are even some near-ambient experiments (the sombre 'Guitar, Flute & String'). Unfortunately every single track on the album was eventually licensed for commercial advertisements, so many of these tracks have lost their initial impact. Still, an overall great album (and one that helped establish Moby as a mainstream artist).

One of my all time favorite albums. There isn't a bad song on this gem. This is his first V2 Records album. This specific version is the original release of the album, featuring 'South Side' without the vocals of Gwen Stefani. She recorded the vocals over a year after the release of this album when the single was released. The album was then re-released with that newer version. Some Moby fans (including myself) prefer the original recording.

I heard somewhere that this album was the single most leased album of all time. In other words, every single track has been used in countless commercials, tv shows, movies, radio shows, etc. You could listen to this album for the first time and know every track by heart.

As diehard of a Moby fan I am, I don't really see this as selling out (although it pretty much is the epitome of it), I'm more happy Moby finally made a well-deserved breakthrough into pop-culture. Despite how mainstream this album may be, it is still one of my all-time favorites with Moby's fine-tuned production skills.

A very good album, which samples a blues sound with modern music. When Moby sticks to what his good at he comes up with an album like this. Shame it's been cheapened by overkill with 80% of the album used on commercial adverts.
