- Edited 2 years agoThe pressing was really quiet before wet wash. After wash, loud surface noise shown up. I wasn't sure if the noise was there all the time or it shown up after wash... So I bought another copy. New one was quiet but there was a static electricity. I took a risk and I washed it with the spin cleaner. Same thing has happened... loud noise shown up immediately. Same thing has happend with Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters from MOV. I also have 2 other albums of PLACEBO from MOV and they went through wet wash with no problem.
Have you had similar experiences with wet wash of MOV vinyl? It has never happened with any other LP which I have.
I started to think they maybe covering the surface with some special coating which reduce the noise and I just took it off...I have no idea
(I use a Knosti fluid and the brushes in spin cleaner are clean) - While the job has been done well on mastering, everything sounds clean, crisp and rich, but it’s just another defect copy from MOV with a tiny plastic cop that has landed inside the groove during pressing and makes four loud pops without skipping. Would not have wrote a comment for this if such strange things did not happen so often with « Music On Vinyl » repressed. Like new sealed records playing fine for three or four times then starting to skip here and there while grove is absolute clean and records stocked in a dry room. Production line really has to be checked.
- Edited 4 years agoHighly recommended. Pressing is clean and quiet. If you like great jazz breakbeats and excellent electric piano, it is very much worth the $20-25 it will set you back. "Balek" is a monster track.
- My copy has no continuous run-out at the end of side 1 (where the needle loops in the groove at the end of the side) so the needle runs out straight onto the paper label making a really bad sound, which really p*sses me off every time I play it and forget to catch in time!
