This albums is absolutely off the charts! Forget about anything else that Patrice has done, this one is the benchmark.

Great follow up to the CLASSIC 'Straight From The Heart' album from 1982. 'Feel So Real' was a big hit and the album featured an updated sound for Patrice. Love Freddie Washington's bass on the project. Hard to believe that this was Patrice's final album on Elektra Records. Oh well, she left the label on a high note!!

The follow up from Straight From The Heart. This seriously needs a CD reissue. I happen to know it contains some killer tunes with Patrice experimenting more with synths.

Unquestionably this was an album packaged for popular consumption. Yet the flagship tune, Feels So Real still sounds as fresh as the day I first heard it on WBLS in New York. No doubt back then, it also some serious club play as well. After all, that's what it's supposed to do. But the album has many musical moments as well. I know because I bought it soon after and played the mess out of the cassette.

Not a bad album especially if you like the feel of being on the highway HEADING to a dance club in Miami on a late afternoon in 1984. For lovers of programmed drums, you could possibly speed this up to be some enjoyable electro funk! I definitely prefer the organic sounds of "Straight From The Heart". This is all a point of view in retrospective, as I'm sure the production of this album was ambitious at the time. Nice funky bass at least and a feel good, laid back & relaxed feel. 3/5 IMO (I'm sure it suits someone's niche! The programmed beats are pretty cool after all.)
