such a shame it has no ois, no gatefold, not even some insert...
Not the worst pressing. 2nd time I got this one as the first one had a big bubble and consequently looped. A few small pops on the 2nd side, but it will do.
Sound quality and mastering are pretty decent. Given the length of the album (almost an hour) I wish they would have split it into two LPs. The inner-groove distortion isn't terrible, though, and that was a pleasant surprise since most of the MOV released I've heard were loaded with distortion.
The packaging was a disappointment though. One single panel outer sleeve. No liner notes, no gatefold, not even an interesting inner sleeve.
So, in summation class, B+ for audio... D for presentation.
Still, it's hard to bag on one of the best albums I've ever experienced. The songs still move me nearly twenty years later.
Austrailian reissue from Eleven, limited edition white vinyl, is due this January!!!
Mine sounds and looks great. A shame theres a lot of you getting shitty presses of this.- This is crying out for a 2 X LP release. Just far to long for a single release.
- Lots of defects with this pressing. My copy came with bubbles all over the record. Avoid!
My copy has a quiet 'premonition' in the left channel all the way through, very noticeable between tracks. Anyone else have the same problem? You can hear the tracks start in the background almost half a second in advance which is pretty shoddy. Real shame as otherwise the sound is great.
Also worth noting that this release isn't gatefold like the original, shame Music On Vinyl didn't try harder to replicate the loveliness of the original.
