It's definitely a grower as other reviews have mentioned. I spent a while listening to it on Youtube, before I got into buying records and decided that it had to be part of my collection. There aren't many modern electronic musicians who can reach the heights of Aphex Twin, Autechre or Team Doyobi and manage to carve out a sound and vibe of their own, but SD Laika has managed it. Great piece of work.

happy to see a lot of effort put into this release, record spins flat and sounds great. really experimental stuff that sounds great on wax

That's fantastic. It was released in 2014 but it's still actual now

5 out of 10. I was a little disappointed with this album. Several tracks on this release let me down. More of a lab experiment than music. The type of album they'd include with a set of speakers for testing. I'm going to give it another listen. I bought this vinyl on a whim. RDJ dropped the name in an interview saying he was into him right now so I figured it would be pretty out there. It's "out there" all right, just not very interesting to me. Very average.

EDIT: I have been living with this record a while now. Something happened and it really grew on me. I can't explain it. I'm going to leave my original review up and also say that the record is like listening to someone speak a language that you don't understand. After listening long enough, I'm starting to understand it and I like what it's saying. Strange still but in a good way.
