Reviews
- This second -6/-4 Harry Moss remaster is absolutely fantastic, and even beats out the -2/-1 original for me, but slightly. There's so much detail in this remaster, such as on the string/brass section, the layers of acoustic guitar on Here Comes The Sun, and especially the vocals. instruments are to be expected, pounding drums, loud bass, prominent guitars. This cut also handles the inner grooves like a champ, I Want You sounds particularly great here, other than a patch of clipping on Lennon's scream, which I think has always been there on these older Abbey Roads. Every pre-2009 copy I have has some kind of short "PSHHT" noise at the same spot when Lennon screams "YEAH" during that track, like some kind of feedback in the recording. The 2009 remaster and 2019 remix have fixed this. Still, I can't recommend this release enough.
- I just got lucky and found a Beatles Blue Box set for $171...this is the AR that is inside it. Does sound very good really nice and clear separation of instruments.
- This absolutely POPs with color from the jump. The low end is perfectly balanced with the mids and highs. As everyone knows a proper Beatles master offers great separation with excellent lows and highs. That is when you know you have a winner as this pressing certainly is.
