- Also U.K. version on HMV ASD 2349 (1968) with a Jackson Pollock painting "Circular shape" of 1948 on front cover. Also can confirm the comments of tmis re this recording ...
- Considered some of the preeminent recorded performances of these works. As so-called 'avant-garde' classical music, these are challenging pieces. Not many orchestras are capable of doing justice to the scores. This compilation is one of the rare ones that have pulled together definitive performances for the discerning connoisseur. I've had my copy (since digitized) for over 30 years now, originally recommended to me by my music professor, J. Reinhold-NYU.
