Almost ten years have passed since this reissue came out and time has placed it as a solid possibility of listening to one of the best pressed versions of Led Zeppelin ii. This is the humble opinion of a simple Chilean fan who grew up adoring this album.
I do have the famous RL cutter, in fact I have two, a single-sided German Gema press and a double Columbia Pitman RL. Robert Ludwig's cut is excellent, however, I am 55 years old and can only hear up to 13100 Hz. I hardly notice any difference between both pressures. except that in my 2014 there are no pops or crashes.
In a shootout between an RL CP and the 2014 reissue, the difference is negligible, in fact it is easier to follow JPJ's bass in the reissue (except in WLL). I have never had any Lps other than LZI and LZII, and that for forty years. Regarding how to place it next to the UK plums, the a2/b2 second press is almost identical. Maybe the first UK press will surpass it (Wreck) or even the Classic Records version. I don't know, I never had the opportunity to listen to them (this is Chile, not the US). But at that price. It would be crazy to go after those presses unless you are a collector with a lot of money. This LP sounds very good, very good. Yes it is of digital origin but don't worry, like many other good albums if done correctly digital is a legitimate path.
PS: I am so used to my Piros 77 -x ar, that I prefer it to all the presses I own, but that is already an acquired habit that will never be an objective opinion.
    A hug from Chile

I want to thank Mr. Jimmy Page
I don’t know how You did it because the master tapes are old .
But it sounds great it's even better than Robert Ludwig (RL), did it it sounds better than the first British press,
better than the first Japanese press
This sounds ideal (probably how you conceived it in 1968-69) and as I understand it, no one has done it better than You
Thank You - this is a great album - great riffs - incredible music that will never die.
      Thank you.

This is a good pressing of this classic rock album. It is at moments on the hard and digital side of neutral, but anyway it is a good remaster. The originals never sounded good, this is not an audiophile record anyway.

Epic on so many levels. No disrespect to Bob Ludwig, but don’t buy into the mania surrounding the RL cut, when this gets you 90-95% of the way there. You can buy another 10 records with the money you will save.

Actually sounds pretty good, I compared this to my RL and the 2014 compares pretty favorably, not as good though, it doesn't have the depth of bass and presence as the RL, but for $20 vs $200, this is a really really solid pickup

This remaster is Fantastic! Of all the current Zeppelin album Remasters, This album Definitely sounds the best! There is no acceptable negative thing to say about the sound. It’s Punchy, Loud, and the sound stage is Wide. Every detail is presented perfectly. The bass is Strong! I Still can’t believe this is digitally remastered. I just got the Robert Ludwig Hot Mix Finally! It is a VG+ Monarch (RL and SS on both sides) And No Joke… I was Totally shocked and a bit disappointed that there really isn’t a real noticeable difference! I wanted to know just how much better this album could sound than it does on this remaster. I strongly believe that they used Ludwig’s mastering notes on this pressing of Zeppelin 2. Because they’re literally almost identical. Stop chasing the Ludwig Hot Mix for hundreds of dollars and get this! Cuz the difference in sound simply does not justify the cost difference. Nobody can rightly complain about the sound of this record At All! I love both my copy of this and my Ludwig. They’re Twins! Only that my copy of this remaster has No surface noise like the Ludwig does. Really, that’s the only difference

Excellent press, but the sticker is a headache, it doesn’t peel off like the others 2014 remaster

Not the best pressing of this album, but surely a good one. The music is obviously magical.

Wow! Huge explosive sound and very quiet vinyl. Best of the 2014 reissues easily.
