Winter ended in the rhythm of ethnic minimalism and with a sense of harmony that emerged from chaos. Two golden fish, DakhaBrakha from Kyiv and Port Mone from Minsk, like Yin and Yan urging each other, have created an incredibly magnificent joint program. This is not yet a new genre but a world detached enough from modern music reality. Their project was created almost a year ago after long rehearsals in the Dniester River canyon amid snow-white flowered trees, hills of red clay and restless spring birds. After a long time interval, the musicians have met again to show a more conscious, breathtaking and dynamic version of their experimental project. At the end of February and at the beginning of March, DakhaBrakha and Port Mone joint concert tour has become an art event on the border of music ideas, philosophical thoughts and emotions.
Both bands have long term connections to the ArtPole festival. ArtPole and Dakha Brakha were created at about the same time and supported each other in their development. From the very beginning DakhaBrakha has been one of the favorite bands of the festival audience. It was at this festival that the Ukrainian audience was also able to hear the musicians from the Belarusian trio Port Mone for the first time. And owing to joint energy, ArtPole has always been more than just an event. This phenomenon is created by people who come to the festival ready to embrace an experiment and to participate in it. Various musical traditions are combined here, and everybody finds the right form to talk about the eternal. And the Hmeleva Project is one of these experiments.
Packaged in an eco pack with 8-page line-booklet.
