This is a great album, Recorded at the Historic Charlie Chaplin Studio purchsed by Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss in '62 and renamed A&M, The Studio that would become Henson Studios, on the property of Jim Hensons Studio Lot. It's a cool and historic studio, and I definitely recommend seeing it if the opportunity arises.

OK, here's something unusual... wonder if anyone else has or knows about this. I have a copy that came in the normal jacket & has a normal label on one side. On the other side it has a United Artists label for the James Bond Thunderball soundtrack. The recording on both sides is Thunderball...

"The 1965 album Whipped Cream & Other Delights by Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass was a hot seller, moving over 6 million units. It's a good album, without a doubt, but it also benefited from Dolores Erickson, the model who appears on the cover slathered in "whipped cream," licking the index finger of one hand and holding a rose in her other. Dolores Erickson's Whipped Cream & Other Delights album cover is one of the most recognizable of the '60s, and has been the subject of numerous tributes and parodies over the years. For Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, Whipped Cream & Other Delights was the first of three consecutive #1 albums, and kicked off a period in which Alpert consistently outsold the Beatles. At one point in 1966, Alpert had five albums in the top 20 of the Billboard chart, something nobody else has ever done. The explosion of Herb Alpert's career in the mid-'60s can be traced to Whipped Cream & Other Delights, and cover girl Dolores Erickson.

It has been called the raciest album cover of all time."
(edit: Quite racy for 1965 in the U.S. in any case,,)

The sound on the 2015 reissue (Herb Alpert Presents label) is the best vinyl sound I've heard, Bernie Grundman having remastered from original tapes. But the vinyl quality sucks--the pucks were overheated and the vinyl is hazy and full of ripples. Terrible quality control and they apparently don't give a rat's asterisk about it...what a shame, and what a waste of Grundman's great mastering.
