Notes

Released on a 'swirl' Vertigo label [inverted black & white for side B] with a large folded six panel color poster and Vertigo poly-lined inner sleeve in a fully laminated 'box type' cover opening both from the top and bottom.
Both title and band name are embossed.

With swirl on the inner sleeve.

The original UK poster measures 18" x 27" (46 cm x 68,5 cm). It has 6 squares that can be folded. Each square is smaller than a LP. It has a matte finish and weighs 38g.

In some run outs, the last "1" in the matrix is mirrored on side A (such as variations 6, 16 and 22).

Believe the hype on this one. The bass on this pressing an absolute BEAST, especially “After Forever”. It’s cut a little quieter than the US pressing, but the noise floor is lower, and dynamic range is out of this world throughout! I bought an excellent condition copy with the poster a few years back, and it’s one of the prized items in my collection.

I have an OG 1972 Terra Haute (P) copy, VG condition, that still kicks a$$ 52 years later.

I took a chance buying a pretty rough copy of this some years ago. It had a tough life but I cleaned it thoroughly and was amazed at the sound quality. This first press can never be beaten.

I must be one lucky b*st*rd Yes Minister ! Found this album a few years ago in excellent shape with a NM poster for 2 €. Yes, 2 euro !!!
I dont play it, have another version but maybe when I upgrade my speakers I'll compare them. Funny to read that the poster should weigh 38 grams, mine does so it's correct.

I have a NM copy of this album, and wow! Just wow! This is easily the best sounding record in my 300+ collection. The bass is punchy enough to bring the walls down, the vocals and guitar are crisp, and the drums sound as if they are at war with your eardrums.

The old saying "they don't make 'em like they used to" very much applies to this album.

Get a copy before the prices go through the roof!

You would not believe how great a genuine UK 1st pressing of this classic album sounds ( even to the UK represses that shortly followed ) . I was shocked by how so much better this was to every other version that I've heard . Blows every other version away .
Don't pass this version up , if you see a copy buy it !!!!

I live in the US and had a Warner Brothers early release of this album. It was great. Over time I heard or owned different releases .
When I had the chance I bought the swirled Vertigo Album . It was so amazing to hear the difference in this great album . If you want a poster or not , nothing compares to this original UK release . It is worth the money .This is Black Sabbath , the real heavy, killer version it was recorded to be. I sold my other releases of it . Original vinyl still rules !

If you're a huge sabbath fan like I am and you can afford the original veritgo of this album (it will definitely be tougher for US buyers), yes they're worth it and live up to the hype. Good lord this pressing is great. The dynamics and clarity on this thing is unmatched. I will say though, the Rhino pressing from 2010ish I had did the job for me until I got this pressing.
