- Immaculate cover and sleeve designs for a legendary record. If you can get this in great+ condition without getting scalped, do it. None of the digital images online do the complete physical packaging justice.
Bakground is the only artist I know that plays with this particular sound as well as this EP, so check em out if you loved this. - Edited 9 years agoSublime record. The intro with the lo-fi pads sets the mood - It's not long before those perfectly executed breaks kick in - there's a great aggressive mood to this track that transplants well from the similar aesthetics of the previous Rezzett 12". The whole mix is suitably saturated to the level that I get people asking me why these tracks sound like they do, which is always cool.. The strong bass tones towards the end of the A side really does give off a monolithic, heavy vibe.
The flip side with the 'Yavas Mix' sounds equally as good - I remember hearing this tune played out by Dynamo Dreesen on Rinse France a few months back and wondering if he'd just got the levels wrong on the mixer - I was wrong. Perhaps it's just me but this track really emphasises the shimmering sort of haze that A Guy Called Gerald really perfected on 'Black Secret Technology'.. It offers an interesting contrast to the breathtaking, almost angry sounds of the a side by completely extracting the drum track which is somewhat confusing on first listen but definitely grows on you the more you spin it.
Great stuff. Props to Will for seeking out talented producers like Rezzett.
