"Pale Shelter" on this release, is the second single version.
My copy don't include the front sticker from back to black and don't include the coupon to download the mp3.
Very simple front cover, the LP is inserted into the lyrics sheet and not a high quality inner sleeve to protect the LP. The picture reproduction on the lyrics sheet is not as good as the original.
Some songs doesn't sound like on the original first press release and it's clearly a remaster made at the abbey road studio(they usually do an amazing job there).
The LP is noisy because of the insertion of the disc in the lyrics sheet and not a good quality inner sleeve. Some minors hair lines, some clicks and pops sound all over the record, the kind of sound you will find on an used copy in a VG+ or Near mint record.
My guess is that they remaster the master tapes or the tapes (single mixes for some songs) they was able to find since some songs don't sound like on the original record...and they cut this record from the digital remaster and it's not fully analog... But it's not a big surprise since most of the rereleases are cut from digital files and not analogue sources.
The sound is ok, but for the price (40$) and the fact that it's nothing more than a digital record, maybe buy the blu-ray version or the 30th anniversary box set with tons of extra tracks will be a better price bargain...or try to find a near mint used copy at a good price.
I buy this new rerelease to upgrade my old Canadian copy who is in a bad condition.
Anyone have this and can comment on the pressing/mastering quality? I have the original US vinyl which is very good, but my copy is a little damaged in a few places and looking to replace it. Thanks!
