Reviews
Show All 14 Reviews- Scientist Rids The World Of The Evil Curse Of Junjo Lawes is certainly one of the best records of all time.
- This album will go down in history as one of the greatest DUB LP's to ever be released. What a production Scientist, The Roots Radics Band, & Henry Junjo Lawes! This album was a huge influence on my DUB love from the very start. Also what a blessing to hear the whole album on GTA 3; K-Jah with Horace "The Pacifist" Walsh ;)
- Greensleeves records are completely trying to avoid paying Scientist at all cost by rereleasing his albums and re-titling them as "Junjo Rids The World Of The Evil Curse Of The Vampires" and "Junjo Heavyweight Dub Champion" etc. These rereleases will be out next month with altered artwork and all smh ... I hope one day that Scientist gets properly compensated after all these years of being ripped off from Greensleeves.
- This and 'Scientist Wins The World Cup' are absolutely essential to any fan of Dub music. Check out the Roots Radics albums he mixed too.
- crucial dub record for those whom are new to the genre.
best played at night, with the lights all turned off, preferably loud. - Edited 9 years agoI am fan of Jamaican Dub Reggae Music from the late 1960s: King Tubby is the Supreme Master and Acknowledged Dub Inventor and Creator.
Scientist is one of many "Apprentices" whom the King had trained the technical music studio recording and re-mixing skills throughout the 1970s.
Like "Prince Jammy", Scientist set his own path and interesting direction with the introduction of electronic digitalised fusion in Dub Music with mixed but very experimentally wonderful results!
This album is not, in my opinion, his best: I'd much preferred his Dub Reggae's psychedelic music masterpiece, the eccentric, "Scientist Meets the Space Invaders" but my goodness, this album comes very close! Weird. Strange. Glorious.
