Inka Bause was nineteen when her first album was released in the German Democratic Republic, the former communist part of Germany. Obviously, her father Arndt Bause hadn't yet figured out where to take her... and how to get there musically. The lyrics are pure schoolgirl pop, talking about summer days, school, first love and so on.
The music was totally out of time in 1987, sounding like a 1981 Neue Deutsche Welle (german new wave) effort from the western part of Germany. One can guess that Arndt Bause simply couldn't get hold of up to date equipment, but this had changed by the time he produced his daughter's second album in 1989.
Today, the album is fun to listen to as it is almost "minimal synth" now!
