One of the greatest albums. of all time. This changed my life. This pressing and Mono are the way to go..

I was impressed by this pressing. I had heard a lot about the mono pressing of the White album and its qualities, but did not expect it to sound that 3-dimensional…
It is far better than the Giles Martin remix that I previously owned, which was annoyingly bass-heavy.

One thing that struck me though is the heterogeneity of the mixes. Some tracks sound astonishingly good, whereas some other sound quite flat ; sometimes it feels like you are listening to a compilation album or a playlist, with great differences of mixes. But I guess this comes from the very DNA of the white album, and its conception from the start, that is to say a kaleidoscopic collection of songs with ups and downs and four distinct voices and personalities rather than a homogenous, one dimensional album.
          Anyway : it’s a must have !

This has completely blown me away. In all fairness, I’m comparing it to an 80s Capital pressing (purple label which is a respectable pressing, and stereo).

But in general, despite a poor comparison anyone can hear that this pressing is stunning. I have a mono phono pre amp which probably helps create that in your face but also 3d sound of a perfect mono pressing. I think what surprised me is the clarity and instrument separation.

Having now owned a few different version of the white album, this is my personal favourite. For context i'm comparing against the infamous 1981 mono, the 2009 remaster and the new 2018 GIles Martin box set. The 2014 mono pressing is immaculate, no hiss, snaps, crackles or pops. The sound of the music is stellar, its almost three dimensional which is hard to wrap your head around because its mono, but it really does have a 3D thing going on. Dear Prudence for example, it fills the room with the intricacy of the playing, the vocal amazing, and new backing vocals i've never realised was there before, its beautiful.

I've since sold the 1981 mono, i don't see the need to have two mono versions, the Giles Martin stereo mix deserves a shout too, if you can get a copy without defects that is, i returned 2 bad pressing, the 3rd being faultless and is quite exceptional. 2009 Stereo, don't bother..

All the above is just my opinion, never listened to any 1960s pressings so cannot comment.

This Mono copy surprisingly sounds holographic at times and very punchy…I have since upgraded my whole system since my initial review.
I honestly think this is a great sounding album.
I still prefer a “-1” stereo… but this is just as enjoyable.
                Awesome album

Just as most of the LPs pressed after 2000 , just noise not music..junk

Excellent and truly special pressing of this classic. The gatefold, inner sleeves and embossing are top class.
I will always have mixed feelings on the mono vs stereo debate. The mono is punchier and the bass sounds fuller and deeper, some songs easily smoke the stereo (most of the loud/raw Lennon cuts), but other songs get cluttered (While My Guitar...). Also both Revolutions being fold downs makes me sad. I mostly listen to Sides A & B from this and C & D from an older stereo pressing.
If you truly love this album, I recommend pulling the trigger on this plus a stereo copy of your choice. I paid $50 back in 2019 which I considered pricy, but now very worth it.

Can anyone tell me if the four photos are the same as the photos in the 2018 reissue or are they more like the originals
