Absolutely in my top 5 albums of all time. IMO it’s basically “perfect”, in that it could not have been made any other way and still retained the genuinely whimsical magic that it holds. If it were created with higher fidelity/more expensive equipment, it might have sounded too clean and cold, but its natural grit and raw energy give it such a timeless, beautiful glow that can’t be replicated. I’ve laughed, cried, danced like a meth addled toddler, and rinsed it in many a musty basement DJ set. In my eyes it’s the pinnacle of his original “trilogy” of albums. Boku Mo Wakuran has a similar vibe and is fantastic, but he was still honing the sound, and Thinking of You is a fucking banger, and more technically developed, but it doesn’t occupy the special place in my memory that this one does. Samurai Math Beats is my security blanket.

If you love IDM, or just unique, creative music, you'll love this album. It's fun, doesn't take itself too seriously, but is serious in beats and creativity. It does sound a bit dated now listening to it 2 decades later, but it holds a nostalgic stranglehold upon my heart. It's fun, wacky, dark and chirpy. I can imagine that it probably is a love/hate thing with most folks.

Still, it is some seriously interesting stuff.. if you like experimental dnb, GET IT NOW. or later...

Totally wicked. In a lot of ways, this album is similar to Drukqs; if you like songs like Ziggomatic 17, Cock/ver 10, Taking Control - stuff like that - this album will be a welcome edition to your life. Insane rhythms which come together masterfully, spruced up with fantasy like melodies (Bogdan has a GREAT ear for sound texture)

A flawless victory from Bogdan imo. Much love <3

The term "masterpiece" gets tossed around a lot, often in directions where it really shouldn't. Most artists go through their entire career without ever leaving something that will stand the test of time, something that goes beyond all preconceived notions of genre or taste and leaves a lasting impression on nearly all who hear it. Well, I think this album does.

There is just something so honest and innocent about Bogdan's music and it just gets better and better as the years roll by. You can tell he didn't try to make an IDM record or a drum and bass record; he made a Bogdan Raczynski record. I've listened to a fair bit of music in my time and I've yet to come across anyone who has a similar sound. This is music from someone who genuinely has not forgotten the days when the world was still full of wonder.

This record needs repressing. Badly. No decent 'new' dj can play this tune out anymore, caus it's become such a collectors item, being sold second hand for incredibly high prices.
I always loved the sound of 'jungle by someone who never heard jungle' in Bogdan's drill'n bass tunes, makin' drum and bass or just idm sound like nonsens. The rediculous voices and texts make it even more deep and mindblowing, caus u feel it's the work of an artist; someone involved in what he's doing, not producing for the music industry. Hence it's a shame there's still no payable repress for dj's to play out to present day electronic loving audiences of which some barely know Bogdan's early work... terrible.

I can't believe no-ones really commented on this heart breakingly mad opus of a record. I could sit here all night. Mental kung-foo breaks with hyperactive melodies & such a DIY fuck-you attitude! One man & his hotwired machines making delicious electronic wonderment. A separatist movement for sure? No wonder Rephlex released everything they could get their hands on at the time....
