Reviews
- I think it's amusing that the submitter of the CD reissue of this saw fit to list all these styles: Soul-Jazz, Easy Listening, Art Rock, Jazz-Funk, Psychedelic Rock, Jazz-Rock, Psychedelic, Cool Jazz - but it's true, this album has all those and more, maybe even some styles no one has given a name to! Sandro Brugnolini was one of many specialist Italian soundtrack and library music composers that attempted to do something original in the wake of luminaries like Ennio Morricone or Piero Umiliani. Tough competition, as Morricone constantly broke the mould. This was the sequel to his "Underground" which was more beat, as opposed to this having a more 70s prog feel. Some great psychy grooves here though, jazzy and classical diversions, and a good few things I'm sure I've heard in films. Not as great as the Psycheground album (also reissued by AMS) but a curio worth hearing at least.
